Honoring Mothers

“There’s no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one.” - Jill Churchill

As Mother’s Day approaches, we want to spend time honoring the mothers in our lives. As we know, this title of “mom” can be worn by many and have an everlasting impression on our lives.

We’ve put together a collection of recommended books for moms of all stages.

The Parent Track by Christine Sandman Stone, VP of information technology, shares tips for ambitious parents juggling demanding careers. Sometimes you don’t have to choose between a vocation you love and kids. This is a great book for new parents who aren’t ready to give up their career dreams.

The Infertility Doula is the perfect read for those who crave parenthood but are having difficulty conceiving. As the authors, Tia Chapinski and Daniella Virijevic put it, “Trying to get pregnant sucks.” Through the collection of stories from others and the authors' personal struggles of infertility, the future mom-to-be will find comfort in this friendly guide during their difficult time.

For the bereaved mothers who are painfully going through loss, find comfort in Stay Awake With Me by Haley Deck. After the loss of her two-year-old daughter and unborn son, Haley’s world was understandably shaken. Yet, she found comfort in looking beyond the absence of their physical state, and started to see the wonder and joy through the ways she connected with them after death.

Many moms can relate with the aging process and the reality of it all. But why not approach these new stages of life with anything but gratitude? Enjoy some much needed self-care as you read along in Sparkle On as the author, Kim Kane, reveals, with grace and humor, the truth about aging.

And above all, don’t forget to focus on your own self-care. Through the Self-Alchemist Planner, you will be met with 30 days of daily self-care and wellness devotionals. These simple, yet powerful, cues will allow you to fill your glass so you can take care of others around you.

We hope you enjoy and feel honored this Mother’s Day.
