Contest for Emerging Writers

We're looking for reflections from students about the coronavirus or police brutality and racism. The writings can be personal, analytical, or persuasive; the important thing is that they capture the moment from your perspective and add something of value to move these conversations forward. You could write about tangental topics (for example, how the role of social media has changed as a source of news revealing hard truths in real time)—we want to see your creativity. We are looking for submissions that are 500-750 words. The top three selections will get to work with a professional editor to refine their essay. The grand prize winner will receive $100 and be published in print in the five year anthology of the Blue Marble Review. The two runner-ups will receive bookstore gift cards. We will promote the top three essays on our blog and social media.

Submissions are due August 15th, 2020.
To submit, email your entry and a short bio to editor@wiseink.com
